It can be very difficult to find somewhere to park in the village on weekdays. Some cars seem to be parked for several hours in the parking bays by the shops on Causewayhead Road, outside the shops on Townhead Road and along Devonshire Terrace Road.
Does anyone else find this to be a problem? If so, what could we do about it?

Dore Village Society asked for a 2 hour parking limit in front of the shops, years ago and has done so time and again since.
ReplyDeleteIt would be a simple solution but the council is unwilling to fund the necessary monitoring by traffic wardens. If implemented I think the community could do its own monitoring!
Can you suggest how this might be organised(the community doing its own monitoring)?
ReplyDeleteI do think you need to consider the residents in the area some of whom need to park nearby. Devonshire Terrace Road residents have enough trouble coping with the deliveries to the cO-Op and the bus without having to suffer parking restrictions as well
