I was thinking how lovely it would be to have a swimming pool in Dore - indoor for the winter and an open air part for the summer. There would be an area for babies and toddlers. And the schools could use it too.

There would be a cafe and possibly other amenities such as an art gallery, museum cinema. A soft play area for little children. What a great place for us all to meet, have a coffee and admire the views. It would be beautifully landscaped with some small houses for older people around the margins.

A good location for this would be the land lying empty after the demolition of King Ecgbert school.

Car Parking in Dore

It can be very difficult to find somewhere to park in the village on weekdays. Some cars seem to be parked for several hours in the parking bays by the shops on Causewayhead Road, outside the shops on Townhead Road and along Devonshire Terrace Road.

Does anyone else find this to be a problem? If so, what could we do about it?

Dore Show

Dore Show is popular and much valued. The organisers will shortly be planning the 2010 event and would like to hear if you have any suggestions or requests for the format of the show, for example more (or different) categories for the exhibits.

Grass Verge Damage

The grass verges in Dore are being damaged as a result of cars and vans parking on the verges. This is eroding the grass and is unsightly. What can we do to encourage drivers to park in a more responsible manner?
